Choosing LinkedIn automation for an agency: 7 checks

What an agency should check before picking a LinkedIn automation tool: multiple accounts, limits, reply handling, lead sources and cold email. Plus our gaps.

Short answer: An agency should pick a LinkedIn automation tool on seven checks: how it handles several accounts, limits you can see, a hard stop on replies, one inbox, lead sources, a cold email option and honest gaps. CuppaLeads covers most of these today, and it does not yet have client workspaces, team seats or white-label. If you manage several client accounts and write your own messages, it is worth a trial.

What is the real problem when an agency picks a tool?

You are not buying for one profile. You are running outreach for several people, each with a different history and a different risk if something goes wrong. A tool that suits a single founder can get awkward at five accounts: separate logins, scattered replies, and a bill that changes shape as you grow. These checks are the questions we would ask if we were in your seat.

1. Does it handle several accounts properly?

An agency needs every client's account to behave on its own terms. In CuppaLeads you connect several LinkedIn accounts, each with its own limits, warm-up and working hours, and leads are de-duplicated across them. See the LinkedIn outreach page for how accounts are set up.

2. Can I see the limits for each account?

Ask for numbers, not adjectives. In CuppaLeads each account has its own limits, warm-up and working hours. The defaults are 20 invites and 40 messages a day and 80 invites a week, with randomized gaps of 2 to 8 minutes between actions and never under 2 minutes. You can raise them, to at most 25 invites and 50 messages a day and 100 invites a week. The guardrails page lists them all. Nobody can promise an account will never be restricted, and we don't.

3. What happens when someone replies?

Before each follow-up, Cuppa checks the thread. If the prospect has replied, the sequence stops and the reply lands in your Unibox. This matters more for an agency than for anyone else, because a follow-up sent to someone who already answered reflects on your client.

4. Can I handle every account's replies in one place?

The Unibox holds the replies from all connected accounts in one inbox, with filtering by campaign, inline replies and tagging. For a small team that is often the difference between answering in an hour and answering tomorrow.

5. Where do the leads come from, and are duplicates removed?

Cuppa takes leads from CSV or Excel files, pasted profile links, LinkedIn search URLs, post engagers, your own connections, and webhooks (including Zapier, Make or Clay). Duplicates are removed across campaigns and accounts, so the same lead is not approached twice from one list. See the LinkedIn outreach page.

6. Can the same tool send cold email?

Some clients are better reached by email, so it helps if you don't need a second tool. Cuppa sends cold email from your own Google Workspace mailboxes, after about 15 minutes of setup with your Workspace admin. It verifies every address with your own verification key, checks SPF, DKIM and DMARC before launch, includes an unsubscribe link and paces each mailbox. Microsoft 365 is coming soon. LinkedIn and email run as separate campaigns today. Read more on the cold email page and in our post on using LinkedIn and cold email together.

7. What does the tool not do yet?

This is the check people skip, and the one that saves the most time. Here is ours:

  • No client workspaces that we list. All accounts sit in one app. Team seats and white-label are coming soon, with no dates.
  • No AI-written messages yet. Coming soon. You write your own, with variables, previews and A/B variants.
  • Email and LinkedIn are separate campaigns. One sequence cannot mix the two channels yet.
  • Google Workspace only for email. Microsoft 365 is coming soon.
  • HubSpot sync and a public API are coming soon. You can use webhooks and CSV export today.

If you need white-labelled reporting for clients or seats for a whole team right now, check other tools too. Our compare pages set CuppaLeads side by side with several of them, with sources.

How do I test a tool before committing?

Run one small campaign on one account, using your own copy, and look at three things: whether the limits behave as described, whether replies stop sequences, and how easy it is to find a reply across accounts. Cuppa's trial has nothing to install, so a test takes a few hours.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Seven things - how well it handles several accounts, visible limits and warm-up per account, a hard stop on replies, one inbox across accounts, lead sources and de-duplication, cold email as an option, and honest answers about what is not built yet.

Not today; client workspaces are not a listed feature. You can connect several LinkedIn accounts and see every conversation in one Unibox, which you can filter by campaign. Team seats and white-label are coming soon, with no dates.

Yes. Cold email is sent from your own Google Workspace mailboxes after a one-time setup of about 15 minutes with your Workspace admin, and LinkedIn and email run as separate campaigns today.

Not yet. AI-written messages are coming soon. Today you write your own with variables, a live preview and A/B variants.
